⚠️ Sensitive Themes
Tonight I will be reading The Drovers Wife, a short story that captures the struggles and resilience of a woman living in the Australian outback with her four children while her husband is away droving. The story explores themes of loneliness, isolation and the hardships faced by those living in remote areas. Henry Lawson, one of Australias most celebrated writers was born in 1867 and is known for his vivid potrayals of life in the Australian bush and the harshness of outback existence. His stories and poems explore themes such as mateship and resilience while capturing the essence of the Australian landscape. *Content Warning: This classic story contains language and attitudes that reflect the time it was written and imagery of hurting animals as was needed for survival during that time. * So cozy up in your Quiet Corner and enjoy tonights story.
