"The Resident Patient" is a classic example of Doyle's ability to weave intricate plots and develop suspense, keeping readers engaged until the very end.
Dr. Percy Trevelyan, a talented but financially struggling physician, is given a chance to establish his own practice thanks to a wealthy benefactor named Mr. Blessington, who moves in as a resident patient. Trevelyan’s practice flourishes until two strange men visit, causing Blessington to become extremely agitated. Enter Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

The Quarantine at Alexander Abrahams by LM Montgomery
Friday Jul 19, 2024
Friday Jul 19, 2024
Tonight I will be reading a short story from Chronicles of Avonlea by LM Montgomery, author of the Anne of Green Gables series. The story follows a practical, independent woman who ends up quarantined in the home of Alexander Abraham, a grumpy bachelor who dislikes women. Forced to stay together due to a smallpox scare, they initially clash but gradually begin to understand and appreciate each other. I love this story as it captures the wit, charm and warmth of Montgomery's writing. Sweet Dreams!
